Our Horses

All our horses & ponies are a well loved, valued part of our team.

Although our horses do "work for a living" their welfare is always our top priority, and our horses "work hours" are kept low, and are closely monitored by us.

On top of this we close for two full days a week to ensure our horses can be horses, and have mental and physical relaxation.

All our equines are carefully selected by us to offer the best possible learning experience for riders of all ages and abilities. Every horse at HEC receives regular training and exercise along side a tailored individual health programme to ensure they are kept fit and healthy throughout the year.

The horses are all treated as individuals, they regularly see the vet, farrier, physio etc and we have been highly commended by the BHS for our high welfare standards.

Their welfare will always be our top priority, we will always advocate for the welfare of the horse in all circumstances, and this is underpinned by all our staff having equine care qualifications all the way up to BHS Stage 5 (BHSI).

We have horses ranging from 10.2hh to 17.3hh, suitable for nervous novice, to schoolmasters.
